2008 High School Club Teams Major Announcement

As the 2008 High School baseball season inches closer and closer to beginning, Golden Era is gearing up to put together our Summer of 2008 club team rosters. And with great excitement we are proud to announce beginning in 2008 THERE WILL BE NO PROGRAM FEE to be part of our summer rosters.

The only costs to play baseball for Golden Era will be to buy a uniform and pay tournament fees for events we are attending (roughly $250-$500) depending of which tournaments are attended. All players will also be required to volunteer some time for a community service project!!!

Golden Era’s first club team took the field over Memorial Day weekend of 2005, with mainly a group of “unknown” players at the time. Never did we imagine that the entire line-up of our 1st game we ever played, plus many others who did not start that game, would end up playing college baseball, to go along with two of those players being drafted in the 2006 Major League draft. From there the tradition has grown to where 100% of our 06 and 07 grads have moved on to play college baseball.

Golden Era’s commitment and goal for all of our players is simple really, to do our best to help every player within the program begin to reach their potential, to get better…and to help them reach and be more prepared for their next level…both on the field and off the field.

During the summer we play local games as well as compete in some of the most select tournaments in the country. An example of some of the high profile tournaments we’ve attend in the past include; the Firecracker Classic in Orange County, the College World Series Showcase tournament in Omaha Nebraska the week of the CWS, the West Coast Wood Bat Summer Series in San Diego, to name a few. And for 2008 plans are to attend the WWBA National Championships in Georgia. An introductory 2008 schedule will be posted in early February.

But the number of games our teams play and the tournaments we attend isn’t the cornerstone of our program. Golden Era’s focus is put on instruction and individual skill development. We pride ourselves in taking players from where they’re currently at as a player and doing our best to help them excel even further.

So what we offer is a competitive summer Club Team travel schedule as well as highly structured and organized workouts. We feel it really is the best of both worlds because players get the high profile, top talented tournaments, but also the skill development that every player needs.

We at Golden Era Baseball consider ourselves very lucky and are humbled to have been able to work with so many talented baseball players since 2005. The aspect we are most proud about as a program though, isn’t where some of our players have gone on to, or that we have had players drafted in the MLB Draft…the aspect that we are most proud of is since the beginning of our program, every player who has wore our uniform has moved on to attend college and is working towards his degree.

We feel that baseball is short lived, a brief moment of a long life. Having young men move on to college, have experiences that will stay with them for a lifetime to go along with a degree that could never be taken away…. is the really important thing and what we are trying to prepare our players for.

We welcome any talented players who have the desire, determination, and drive to develop their skills as a player and who would like to work hard to do their best to continue their baseball days past high school… to keep the tradition started by our previous players going strong.
